A catchpit chamber, also known simply as a catchpit, is a structure used in drainage systems to capture and retain debris, sediment, and other solids from surface water runoff. They are normally installed upstream of an attenuation tank or attenuation pond to prevent blockages, reduce sediment build-up and improve the overall efficiency and longevity of the drainage system.
WASP catchpits are designed to separate and retain silt and other particles from stormwater, helping to protect the downstream drainage system and local environment. WASP catchpits are bespoke, watertight, structured wall chambers, manufactured to suit project-specific requirements and arrive to site ready to install.
Installation is quicker than traditional manhole chamber build techniques using manhole rings and the health and safety benefits become apparent during handling and installation, due to their strong, lightweight construction and integral lifting points.
